I researched my BA for a year before going through with it. There were many difficult decisions to be made. I think THE most important issue (for me) was choosing the best plastic surgeon. At two weeks post, i can honestly say that i DID choose the best in Dr Brown.

I had consults with 7 other ps, but, in the end went with Dr. Brown for a few main reasons: 1. his glowing resume (graduated first in his class), awards, published articles, and patient testimonials/referals 2. The fact that he uses MANY incision sites, placements, types of implants, and does a lot of breast reconstruction work. Versatility is important to ensure each patient gets the most optimal result since no two patients are exactly the same. 3. The fact that he was honest, upfront, confidence-inspiring and personable. The list could go on and on..... 4. His surgical technique (sharp dissection only, utilization of the no touch technique) and after care techniques (no strap, no bandages, no drains )....not that these things are bad in any respect AT ALL. PLEASE dont take this as an insult to any ps who uses these things! Just personally after researching, it wasnt what i wanted.

My BA lasted 55 minutes. I had no bruising at all and made it through recovery taking very few tyl#3 and about a half dozen extra strength tylenol. I could raise my arms over my head without pain from day 2. there was discomfort but not pain. I did have overs but i still feel my recovery was physically easy (the mental aspect was a bit tough)!

I love my size and although i totally stressed out about being too big, i totally trusted dr brown's judement and now i have ended up exactly how i wanted and envisioned. I couldnt be happier.

I also am thankful to dr brown because he really went the extra mile for me. When i ran into some health issues the week before my scheduled BA. he consulted his colleagues on my behalf (without ever being asked to do so)...he did extra blood work on me, was supportive and encouraging but never pressured me to go ahead with surgery. He quickly returned phone calls that i left with his receptionist. He is busy so i cant say i NEVER felt rushed in his office but by the same token, i didnt EVER feel he was brushing me off. If i had more questions, he always answered them without seeming like he wanted the meeting to end.

If anyone is considering breast augmentation, i think they should consider Dr Brown because he is fabulous!
